Barbara Leads Group to Recycling Center
In July 2022, Barbara led a group of 30 people to the Santa Barbara landfill and recycling center. This remarkable facility captures 85% of recyclables, sequesters carbon, and removes organic matter from the trash bin (even dog poop!) for compost. But, as the docent reminded us, recycling—which is still an industrial process—is not the answer. Cutting down on what we buy is.
